Enshrouded 1.0 Server: get your world ready for the October 15 launch
On October 15, 2026, Enshrouded leaves early access with version 1.0 on PC (Steam) and PS5. The Xbox Series X|S version follows in spring 2027. After almost two years of early access and eight major updates, Keen Games is adding the final biome, reworking the entire existing world and overhauling combat. Running a server, or planning to open one for launch? Here's what the developers have actually announced, what's still unconfirmed, and how to get your world ready for launch day.
“The short of it is: it is very important for us to stick the landing with 1.0, and everything we'll be doing until Release will be to that end.”
— The Enshrouded team (Keen Games), Steam announcement, January 21, 2026
What's new in Enshrouded 1.0, according to Keen Games
Keen Games will publish the full feature list and the 1.0 changelog in October. Everything below comes from official statements by the team, its videos, and press who played version 1.0 at gamescom 2026.
The final biome: a volcanic area
This is the missing piece of the map. Antony Christoulakis, the game's Creative Director, sums it up:
“When we went into Early Access in 2024, we only had half of the world filled with content. And now, step by step, over the course of our Early Access period, we did eight major updates and we are now adding the final biome.”
— Antony Christoulakis, Creative Director at Keen Games, CGMagazine interview, gamescom 2026
According to press who tried it at gamescom, this biome is a volcanic area. It leads to floating islands and brings mechanical enemies, a grappling hook, a level cap raised to 50 and around 35 new enemies.
A completely reworked world
1.0 doesn't just add a new zone: the original map has been overhauled from top to bottom.
“To make the world more interesting, we reworked all the terrain that we launched with, reworked hundreds of points of interest, and added hundreds more in all the biomes.”
— Antony Christoulakis, CGMagazine
Combat, items and enemies overhauled
“…we reworked all items, all animals, all weapons, we added more heavy and special attacks, and added tons of new enemies.”
— Antony Christoulakis, CGMagazine
Keen also released an official video on the fixes planned for 1.0 (“Things we're fixing for 1.0”). It covers the Fell Dragon Youngling fight, changes to the Updraft, new character proportions, NPCs getting stuck and fishing improvements.
Much better performance
“The other big challenge we're tackling for 1.0 is making Enshrouded's performance better, after years of adding systems, details, making the thing more beautiful, etc. We really wanted to get the game to perform much better including on lower and middle-range systems…”
— The team at Keen Games, enshrouded.com, August 27, 2026
A dedicated official video breaks down the work: a new brick renderer, optimized shadows, global illumination, reflections, vegetation and shader compilation.
Adventure sharing goes further
Introduced with the “Forging the Path” update in April, adventure sharing lets you create content for other players. Keen has announced what comes next:
“This update is only the beginning for the adventure sharing feature. In upcoming updates, we will expand on the feature, giving players the tools to build content and adventures for others to explore and enjoy, including logic systems for interactive elements, puzzles, spawning enemies… and traps!”
— The Enshrouded team, patch notes, April 21, 2026
Platforms, players and price
- PC (Steam) and PS5, with PS5 Pro support, on October 15, 2026;
- Xbox Series X|S in spring 2027. Jan Jockel, CEO of Keen Games, explains why: “We never want to rush a platform release or compromise on quality” (press release via Gematsu);
- up to 16 players in co-op on PC, 8 on PS5;
- the game went up to €39.99 on Steam on September 8, 2026.
Should you start a new world for 1.0?
This is THE question when you run a server, so let's be honest: Keen Games hasn't published any official guidance yet on save compatibility. The answer will most likely come with the October changelog. Until then, two things can help you decide:
- the original terrain and hundreds of points of interest have been reworked, according to the Creative Director himself. An old base may end up in surroundings that have changed;
- at gamescom, the team advised a Mein-MMO journalist to start from scratch to fully enjoy all the content.
Our advice: back up your current world before October 15, then decide with your group. That way you keep your old world safe and can start the 1.0 adventure on a fresh world without losing anything.
Which server should you pick for Enshrouded 1.0?
Enshrouded is demanding on the server side: the more of the world you explore and build, the more memory it uses. With a bigger map and a player rush expected at launch, here are our plans:
| Plan | Recommended players | RAM | vCPU | SSD | No commitment | 3 months (−10%) | 6 months (−20%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | 2 to 4 | 6 GB | 3 | 25 GB | €0 for 24 h, no card required | — | — |
| Enshrouded Fast | 2 to 4 | 6 GB | 3 | 25 GB | €9.99/month | €26.97 | €47.95 |
| Enshrouded Pro | 4 to 8 | 8 GB | 3 | 25 GB | €14.99/month | €40.47 | €71.95 |
For a group of friends, Fast is enough. For an active group that will explore the whole 1.0 map and build big bases, Pro with its 8 GB gives you headroom. You can switch plans at any time if your group grows.

Launch your Enshrouded server in 5 steps
- Open the Enshrouded configurator.
- Pick your plan with the slider: 24 h free trial, Fast or Pro.
- Pick the duration: no commitment, 3 months (−10%) or 6 months (−20%).
- Name your server and launch it: it's ready in under two minutes, hosted in France, with live ping measurement.
- Share the connection address shown in your dashboard: your friends can join the world whenever they want, even when you're offline.

October 15: how does the update work?
If a server isn't up to date, your players can no longer connect. With Eokko, you have nothing to install:
- we check every hour whether a new version of Enshrouded is out on Steam;
- as soon as it's released, the new server version is built automatically;
- you get an email letting you know;
- the update is applied the next time your server restarts: one click on “Restart” in the panel is all it takes.
Before restarting, think about your save: automatic backups and one-click restore let you roll back if anything goes wrong.

And after 1.0? The studio isn't planning to stop there:
“We plan to support the game with new content for years to come. There's no reason for us to stop after 1.0 now ‘the game is finished.’ We will continue to work on it full force.”
— Antony Christoulakis, PCGamesN interview
